2nd - Gesture Skeletons

In art we learned a little about Dia de los Muertos as a holiday for remembering and honoring those who have passed. We then studied some past artists such as Jose Guadalupe and even Andy Warhol who used skulls and skeletons in art. We then learned about gestures as a movement of part of the body to express an idea or meaning, and students were able to use the gesture dolls to display an action to practice drawing their gestures and movement in art. We then moved it to skeleton tracers to mimic their gesture drawings, adding in the body and the bones going back to Dia de los Muertos and students finished the project using oil pastels to add some "accessories" or details to enhance their simple gesture drawing.
