For this project we learned about the Swiss artist Paul Klee and his abstract art. We looked at the shapes, colors, and natural images he created to inspire our artwork. Each student created their own abstract cat or dog using basic shape tracers and rulers. Students then could choose either warm or cool colors to complete their cat/dog. The focus was on geometric shapes, color families, directional coloring, and following directions. Vocabulary included: abstract, geometric, realistic, warm & cool colors, & quality craftsmanship.
