1st - Bunny Near & Far

For this project, we began with the review of horizon line and landscapes. Students learned about the Snowshoe Hare, and we looked closely at their big feet! We discussed what things looks like when they are near vs. far, and created the illusion of depth by stamping our bunny feet small far away in the background at the top of the hill, and gradually increased the size as the footprints came closer to the  foreground. We completed this fun project with a directed drawing of a Snowshoe Hare face and neck using oil pastels to create the illusion of fur. We finished the project by cutting and pasting on some evergreen trees to enhance the illusion of depth and finish up our wintery landscape!
