Fiber Art Patches

Students learned about wearable artwork and why an artist would chose to wear their artwork. After discovering the ways in which wearable artwork is different from other artwork, students learned about fiber artist, Bisa Butler, who layers and stitches fabric to create detailed quilts. Taking inspiration from Butler's techniques, students thought about something they want the world to know about them, and created a fiber art patch, representing this idea. Finally, students used the running stitch and fabric markers to complete their patches. We will pin our patches and wear our artwork for the world to enjoy!
