Belonging paintings

Students studied the concept of belonging, and the feelings experienced when we feel like we belong. After learning about artist, Zsofia Schweger, and the way her work represents places of belonging, students brainstormed a variety of places that make them feel a sense of belonging. Students learned how to create visual depth with a background, middleground, and foreground, while practicing painting techniques and color blending. Students applied painting techniques with the idea of belonging, to create an artwork that represents a place in which they feel a strong sense of belonging.
