Mrs. Perrotta 1B Class-
After reading The Legend of the Poinsettia by Tomie dePaola, 1st grade students were inspired to paint poinsettia flowers. The students began by using q-tips to paint the yellow centers, followed by sponge painting the red and pink petals, followed by the leaves. Finally, the children used watercolors to paint the background which is reminiscent of the sky.
Mrs. Mercado 1A & 1C-
Students learned about painting sunsets and silhouettes in art. They created their own sunset using watercolors. These pieces are still in the process of being created and will be posted by Feb 12th.
