If The Dinosaurs Came Back

INTRO:
Students were introduced to this lesson with the book "If the Dinosaurs Came Back," by Bernard Most. They noted his use of black and white drawings in the background of his illustrations with brightly colored dinosaurs in the front.

PROJECT:
Students began their project by drawing a cityscape as their backdrop as if they were the illustrator of the book. They drew it in pencil and then outlined it with sharpie or black drawing material. Next, the looked at how to draw book in the Usborne Dinosaur book and drew a large dinosaur on colored paper. They then outlined their drawing in black sharpie, cut it out and then glued in down onto their drawing to create a collage. They could draw one or more dinosaurs of their choosing.
