Ceramic Owls 1st Grade

Students had fun learning owl facts! Did you know that owls cannot "roll" their eyes like humans? That's why they can turn their heads almost 360 degrees!  Students also learned clay techniques such as pinch and pressing textures into the clay.  After the owls were bisque fired, the students applied glaze to their owls. They were glazed fired to create the shiny glass coating.  Students also got to choose and place a feather tail in the owl to finish it off!
