5th Grade: Tiny Galleries and Rooms!

In celebration of the NLC Art Shows, 5th grade artists created tiny galleries and art museums using recycled materials! Students began construction on individual mini-galleries using collage and 3 pieces of 6inch x 6inch cardboard for the walls. Students were encouraged to personalize their mini galleries with mementos, artworks, statues, and other details. Standard based work: Students learned to define the roles and responsibilities of a curator, explaining the skills and knowledge needed in preserving, maintaining, and presenting objects, artifacts, and artwork. Students were graded on construction, complexity, originality, and appropriate use of materials throughout the build.
