Flower Still Life Collages

This year, before the closure, one of our final art lessons ( inside the studio ) our kindergarten students created was a multi-step collage artwork.  We read Peter H. Reynolds' children's book, "Ish" and used that inspiration to truly embrace our observational and emotive drawing skills!  Students created a background for their still life artwork, and focused on using beautiful colors, textures, and patterns.  Next, we created a flower, letting go of all the "expectations" for our flowers, and letting them be beautiful - just as they are- without corrections. Then the students used watercolor colored pnecils to create fun vibrant colors for their petals, and once they were all finshed, these flowers were collaged into our final artworks!
