Cute vs. Creepy Project

For this project you must understand cultural tropes such as Creepy Cute that shape our world. By examining simple ideas like cuteness and creepiness, students can deconstruct how the visual world has power over us without us realizing it. Student artists will alter creepy things to be cute or cute things to be creepy. You will select a stuffed object and determine how viewers would “read” that object. What informs our taste? What makes us have associations with some things and not others? As artists, how can we control interpretations? You created a cute or creepy masterpiece!
