Jessica Herr
Jessica Herr has been teaching high school art for 22 years. This is her tenth year at FDHS, but she has been in Augusta County for the last 19 years. Mrs. Herr was named FDHS Teacher of the Year for the 2024-25 school year. In 2012, Mrs. Herr received the Dawbarn Award for Inspiring, Encouraging, and Fostering Learning. In 2008-09, she received the Teacher of the Year award at Buffalo Gap High School. Mrs. Herr exhibits her artwork, usually Ceramics, around the Harrisonburg area. She won the Judge's Choice Award during the 2013 Art Lotto Portrait Show for her portrait of John Bell. Mrs. Herr enjoys working with high school students and sharing her love of art with them.
