Welcome to another wonderful school year. Kids are the best artists because they aren't afraid to take chances and get messy! In art class we learn about history, different cultures and new art techniques. We learn that sometimes there is more than one solution to a problem. I love painting and helping others to expand their own creativity. This is my 16th year with Altruria Elementary. I enjoy cooking and gardening. I have a wonderful husband, a 13 year old son, and 5 year old twins. My son is in 8th grade at Elmore Park middle school. We are very proud of our art program and the work that our students create. Please let me know if you have any questions or need help with this site.

My favorite thing about teaching this age range is the fearlessness in their creativity. They're not afraid to make mistakes and work with it! I love it! I wanted to become an art teacher in order to make a difference in people's lives, and to also help people realize that anyone can be successfully creative if they just try. I'm married to a wonderfully supportive man. We both like to channel our inner-child, so it wouldn't be odd to find us playing outside with our dog or huddled inside playing the latest Mario game. My other loves are reading, drawing, and hiking.
