Second graders looked at paintings by famous artist Vincent Van Gogh; Sunflowers, Self Portrait, and Starry Night. They listened to the story Camille and the Sunflowers A Story About Vincent Van Gogh. They looked at real sunflowers in vases and drew a sunflower in a vase. They outlined with Sharpie and colored with markers. Students used swirl lines in the background and then went over the whole composition with a water brush.
