RES Artists learned about creating Pysanky Egg Designs which is one of  the art traditions that have sustained the people of the Ukrainian region. This practice of making eggs in the spring is older than Christianity and expresses the hope we all feel in the spring. Our studies of this living and changing tradition were done with scratch art paper rather than the more traditional method that uses wax and dyes on eggs. Students wanted to express their support for the children in this war-torn country and decided to donate a portion of their Artsonia profits to a cause that promotes Art and Healing for the month of April. They selected the  vetted  Ukrainian charity of Voices of Children Foundation which provides art therapy to traumatized children to help in a small but heartfelt way.
