Kindergarten Self Portraits

Students read the  The Colors of Us by Karen Katz.  They used various shapes and lines to draw their self portraits.  They chose a skin tone tempera paint color to match their own skin tone and painted their skin.  They then outlined their work with black crayons and used colored crayons and colored pencils to design their shirts.  Lastly, they  created colorful, vibrant backgrounds with wateer color.
