The student's learned so much during this project. They learned about the foreground where large object are because they're close up, the middleground near the middle of the paper where objects are getting a bit smaller because they're farther away and the background where all the small objects are because they're the farthest away. Placing objects in each of these "grounds" helps give the painting depth. The students also learned about value which is different tints and shades of one color, the wet-on-wet watercolor technique for painting their sunset and how to draw trees with branches that get skinnier, smaller and shorter the farther they are away from the trunk! Tell them how proud you are of all the knowledge they learned by leaving an inspiring comment for them!
