The students at MTES learned about animals and winter habitats for Green Day this January.  The 4th grade students focused on artist Ted Harrison from Canada who painted abstract scenes of the Yukon Territory.  His artwork features the effects of Aurora Borealis, Mountains, and glaciers.  Despite being most landscape, his work also included the animals and people of the Yukon Territory.   2nd and 3rd grade learned about animals the difference between animals who hibernate, hord, and hunt during the winter.  Their work of art refelcts the habitat "Over and Under the Snow."  Pre-K - 1st grade discussed the Northern Cardinal, a bird who does not migrate in the winter, but stays here living in our own back yards.  Please enjoy our winter environmet inspired artwork.
