Students designed and sculpted an original papier-mache mask. Students needed to write a creative description to accompany and explain the mask including assigning the mask a purpose (connection, transformation, healing, protection, or entertainment). They were asked to add at least 1 structural or sculptural element to the face. Lastly, they needed to use at least 3 different painting techniques (splatter, paint+sand, wet-in-wet blending, sponging, plastic wrap, stencil/masking tape, or dry brush). Students were to showcase different values of paint on the mask and were to work neatly.
