Rene Margrite's The False Mirror

Students learn about Surrealist art and Artist Rene Margrite.  We discussed factors that classify a piece of art as surreal.  Next we looked at artwork of artist Rene Margrite.  We learned about reoccurring subjects that are seen in Margrite's work. Finally we learned about his painting, The False Mirror and modeled our artwork after it.  We drew a realistic eye and shaded it with value.  Then students designed the iris of the eye.
