K DeAngelis Monet Waterlilies

Students learned about Impressionism and Claude Monet's significant contributions to the genre. We looked at his paintings of his gardens, including water lilies. Then they colored coffee filters with red, yellow and blue marker. We sprayed the coffee filters and watched as the colors bled and blended. The filters dried on white paper, which absorbed additional color from the filters creating 2 more circles of color. Students cut out the paper circles and I hot glued all 4 pieces together to make one fabulous water lily. Enjoy!
