Using line and color create an optical illusion. Focus is upon the principle of PATTERN, identify regular pattern, alternating pattern and progressive pattern if present in your artwork accurately. Students create a 3D effect with the illusion of depth, with the use of line & shading. Step 1: Draw a wavy line from one side of the paper to the other. Step 2: Add dots along the wavy line. Step 3: Draw curved lines between the dots. Make sure you always draw from one dot to another. This will create the 3D effect. Avoid just drawing arches or bridges from one curved line to another. Step 4: Add color with pencils or crayons. Color more intensely on the sides of each curved section, coloring lighter as you move to the middle.
