You AND YOUR HOMIES "DRAWING WITH CHALK!"

STUDENTS IN GRADES 4-5 COMPLETED A UNIT DISCUSSING AND interpreting the life and work of Georgia O'Keefe. During her twilight years she was heavily influenced by the beauty of the New Mexico dessert. We watched volunteers build adobe homes and spent some time exploring where she painted her iconic work. The Perdanal moutain is a majestic thing of beauty, Georgia made several painting of this massive mountainof sure beuty and at first, I couldn't understand why. Yet, even in the unrelenting heat of the desert I too felt compelled to paint that moutain.. I had the pleasure of spending a week in a house near the one she worked in and i was happy to share how inspiring it can be to visit the places where your hero artist lived and created his or her best work
