K-2nd Grade Self Portraits

Our K-2nd Grade Bluejays just completed some awesome artwork! Check out this slideshow to see a virtual gallery exhibition of their fantastic art.
Our Kindergarten artists learned how to draw a self portrait using shapes to create their figure. They then outlined them in black to create a bold outline and finally used watercolor paints to create a colorful positive space around their figure. I was so proud on how they used their black markers for the first time and also how nicely they used their watercolor paints to create their beautiful backgrounds! Our 1st grade and 2nd Grade artists created self-portraits using their drawing skills. Before our creating process, we observed famous self-portraits and other portraits including the Mona Lisa. Then we drew ourselves and our facial features in our project along with a background of our choice.
