My Self Portrait

Kindergarteners learned about the Principles of Design this year. We learned about Proportion. Proportion is the size of something in relation to the whole. Self-portraits make a great project to learn about proportion. We learned that the eyes are half way down the face, the corners of the mouth are aligned with the pupil of the eyes and the ears are aligned with the eyes on the top and the mouth at the bottom. There is one eye width in between each eye. We worked on these for three class sessions.
