3rd Grade Bethlehem Skyline Nativity Painting

Students studied actual photos of the city of Bethlehem and the Judean Mountains. They also looked at different artist's depictions of the Bethlehem cityscape. They then created their own cityscape drawing with overlapping buildings in the foreground, midground, and background. They included the stable and Jesus in the manger in the design. They filled in their images with watercolors and focused on balancing line, color, and shape in their composition.
