This design is really cool. I definitely would not want to drink this seltzer! But I think kids would love it. I like how you incorporated “seltzer” into the green matter the snallygaster is eating. It’s difficult to tell from the photo, but it looks like you intended solid brown on the creature? I think creating a smoother color without the sketchy marks would be more effective. Using contour colors and values but not in a “sketchy” manner. Maybe more exaggerated shapes of contour/highlight on the creature’s body rather than sketchy marks? I’m sure Mr. H can help show you those illustrative color techniques.

I enjoyed watching you create this. You know I’m a big fan of stop motion process- I haven’t made one of my stop motions in a while but this inspires me to make a new one! I need to get out the play doh and the Smurf figures and toy trucks! Lol. I love the glow of your piece, and the way he consumes the skateboard in the end!!!

The upper lip sagging as is so much like Cory’s! And the shape of his head and ears is great. I wonder if there is a way to give him upper and lower eyelids- that’s the only missing piece! Nice job John!

I love this project. You did a great job with the assignment. The design, color choices, and illustrative details are great. I really like the way the guy in the foreground came out- his ear, neck lines and stubble. Also the texture lines of his hair. This is awesome John!

I can’t edit my other comment! I meant the surface shadows are a bit off and a bit too black. I wouldn’t change anything on the fruit!

Nice job giving form to the fruit! Nice mark making! Maybe consider working back into the shadows. The shadow form on the pumpkin is a little off. Also, the black is a bit too dark. But I’m really impressed with your Drawing and creating light and shadow in that pear especially. Seeing the reflected light where pear touches surface just before ehere surface shadow begins. Good eyes!!

This is a great design. Interestingly, as a photograph, the black background works because it appears lighter blue on the left and darker blue on the right. It sounds like a fun process. Nice job John.

This is a great series of stamp designs. I think you did a fabulous job. The original artwork is much brighter; I wonder if you take the photo in natural light/open shade, you might get a more accurate reproduction of the original image. The image is a bit gray here. But it still looks awesome. So unless you are moved to do it, it’s not necessary. I’m lucky; you gave me the original!!

I really like the variations in skin tones and the variations in the white shirt. I think adding pupils to the eyes (not dark black) but maybe 2 shades of grey and a light gray highlight) would make the eyes feel more integrated into the piece. It’s a really awesome collage!

I really like how the toast came out. The glaze snd the shape of the toast makes it look really appetizing. The toaster shape is classic. Really nice work!
