In viewing Nate’s artworks, I’ve been most impressed with his innate ability to exhibit imagination as well as problem solving capabilities, in responding to the art teacher’s assignments. These are 2 traits that I believe propel people in life, no matter what profession. Nate expressed the element of ” line” with his imaginative Ground Hog & jarred bug drawings -he can draw! He showed the power of color using complimentary colors w/the horse assignment. Very compelling! The Chinese vase expressed an interesting ”shape” and using ”value” with the various shades of blue. His art has used many of the basic elements of art partnered with his imagination & problem solving abilities. Good job Nate! I especially LOVE the "critter", but on to perspective . . . *** (A ”BRAVO” to the teacher’s assignments and instructions which are well laid out & are building the students abilities.)

Nate's seemingly innate abilities of a grand imagination and potential for problem solving to me, propels him in these artistic challenges presented by his teacher. His imagination and problem solving (great skills to perfect) will give him success in all aspects of his life, but in his art class he is shining! The projects and teacher directions are impressive as are Nate's responses to each assignment. He is displaying use of line, color, shapes, depth and texture. I anxiously await the next art assignment and his creative results. GO NATE!

Brilliant, energetic fire within and surrounding powerful horses both day and night! Love your gentle blending of the fire's brilliant colors. What a splendid, dramatic depiction of The Lunar New Year Fire Horse! Your color choices are bold contrast to the eye. The power, yet playfulness of the horse profiles draws us in. Almost smiling, and ready to take off on unknown adventures and new discoveries! Bravo Nate! Well done!

Did you choose the colors in this piece? I really like the blue horse cutout paired with the warm pink/yellow/orange in the background !

This is my favorite piece so far. The blue color reminds me of a Greek vase. I really like the fish in the middle and the shading at the bottom where the leaves are lining the bottom band.

I love the colors you chose for this piece. And the mouth with all the teeth is so detailed (and scary!). Great job!

Wow Nate! Dramatic! I can feel the "monster's" powerful silent scream while it is trapped inside a sealed, yet exposed environment! Raw energy displayed! Frustration! Those eyes speak weary terror! Those teeth threaten danger, but vulnerability. Sharp stickers on tentacles contrast well and invite fearful imagination. Love your choice of colors! Hope the cork top is securely in place. Well done Nate!!

Beautiful display of a plump fish among delicate leaf boughs, with intricate patterned bands encircling vase and lovely flower top! The degrees of blue shading contrasts well with white background and deepens the depth of the piece. Well done!

Love the powder white clouds drifting gently in the pools of blue sky. This vividly expressive groundhog makes itself clear! The contrast of the large gray structure, spewing radioactive material, needs to be eliminated!! Well done Nate. Very effective!
