This piece has a very nice mouth and lip due to the slant approach which showcases very sharply. In fact, the contrast between the curved body and the sharp mouth fits well. Additionally, the thickness of the mouth was well chosen because it complements the overall piece and the height difference between both sides was also efficient.

I like how the mouth piece is slanted and perfectly aligned. It looks very smooth. I can tell you S.S.S very good that it was able to stay like that.

This vessel is very abstract and captivates the eye as the mouth is very unique. The decision to construct contrasting form between the body and the neck/mouth, with a round-geometric like shape was a great touch. The texture looks very smooth as well.

This slab vessel has a really interesting asymmetrical form, especially with the extended spout that creates a strong sense of movement. The rounded body contrasts nicely with the sharper, more angular top, making the overall shape feel more dynamic. The surface looks smooth with slight texture variations, which keeps it simple but still visually appealing.

The 3 sketches of the slab built vases share a somewhat similar mood via the structure of the neck from the body to the mouth. The option you chose seems reasonable, as if you derived inspiration as a mixture of the first and third options.

The overall composition evokes a comforting, almost inspirational mood for myself as a viewer. The rhythm of the lines, patterns, and colors collaborate efficiently in this 2D piece.

You took the prompt and assignment and turned it into your own. The house that you created was symbolic to you and I can interpret many things about you just based on your design choice. The fragments exploding out of the chimney make your art rare. All of the patterns tie back to the house design and really sends a message.

This piece has a very whimsical quality to it, with the patchwork qualities of the house and color choices. The chimney smoke’s angular and random qualities contrast well with the smooth structure of the house.
Posted 4 months ago by Juliet
This piece has a linear shape and flat texture, as the creation of a house through the triangular pieces which resemble the base and the circular shape that portrays the chimney is truly imaginative. In fact, the shards which were placed on top of the chimney have a unique color contrast and look attractive.

The red glaze gives the vase a warm tone. The stacks of coils gives the pot a stable personality.
Posted 4 months ago by Susie
The use of dark, saturated glazes give the vessel a sense of intensity, especially combined with the tactile texture created by the variety of coiling techniques used like the swirls, half swirls, and balls. The alternating glaze colors on the body of the vessel also help to emphasize movement and contrast between these coils that create natural divisions.
