This sculpture has a really cool exaggerated scale with how the wide middle section slopes down dramatically before pulling back in at the neck. The papier-mâché paste creates a neat uneven surface over the cardboard base that gives a whole thing a rugged, organic quality. I love how the asymmetrical rim slants across the top, adding a unique sense of gesture and personality to the typical vase profile. It’s awesome how the broad front panel captures the ambient light making the massive silhouette feel super bold and eye-catching.
