I've already shared with you that it's a beautiful graphic design, but unfortunately not the assignment since it's only 2 values in charcoal, rather than 5-12 values in pencil & graphite. So remember, when you get a chance to go back to the textbook or the assignment directions on Google Classroom to give it another chance. Meanwhile, some of what's so exciting about this one is how much it reminds me of the Kwakwaka’wakw Nations in the Pacific Northwest. It almost looks carved. You've got a great aesthetic, dynamic style and natural instinct for composition. I think you'll love either Painting and/or Art Journaling.
As I said several times in class, this is a rubber-meets-the-road assignment where you apply everything you've been learning all year. I'd encourage you to try it on your own between now and the end of the semester. https://classroom.google.com/c/NzkxODM5NjMyMDk3/a/ODIwNTc2OTQ4MzQz/details
Love it. Thank you for always trying, even when the ADHD task-resistance kicks in. You could easily let it become tenacious opposition but you don't. If there's anything I want to give you it's that if you fall in love with the process and it will exponentially improve your products (which are already great, by the way).
Everyone is encouraged to re-read pp.46-48 in 'Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain' and repeat this exercise as often as you want to to build both your perceptual skills and your mental L-to-R mode shifting skills. Everyone is also welcome to re-submit this assignment (decorating, filling with zentangle, expressing & interpreting the positive & negative spaces of the vase/face illusion) for a higher grade before the end of the semester.
