Maple Valley-Anthon Oto High School

Have you ever seen Disney's 'Hercules?' Remember his coach/mentor Philoctetes? The crotchety, old Satyr? You are very gifted. I feel bad about this semester because we had such a wide range of abilities. 3 kids were pretty typical. 3 (including yourself) were pretty advanced. Another 2 struggled, another 2 were SpEd and another 2 were (no sugar coating it) were disruptive. I REALLY want to encourage you to take more Art classes because, like Hercules, you have a lot of talent and like Philoctetes, I'd like to help you develop your talent, because I didn't help you like I should've this year. Between reading your reflections for my class and being married to your E/LA teacher, I know that you're smart and thoughtful and responsible so you'll probably do fine in school and life without Art. If you only want it as a hobby- fine. But I really think that you could be very successful with it. Thank you for always working so hard and trying your best. Have a great Summer and I hope to see you taking more Art classes next year.
