Mrs. Hatch is an art educator. This is her 20th year teaching art at DeBary Elementary. She has been teaching at DeBary Elementary since the year 2000 and while teaching art throughout the school year, during summers she teaches art at Gateway Center of the Arts to children of all ages. Furthermore, she is an artistic photographer that photographs families, models, and animals.

Mrs. Hatch loves Art. She enjoys creating her own art, studying art of other artists, and teaching art to her young students. She shares her knowledge with her students about art history, art techniques, and the process of making art, but her over all goal she wants her students to take with them is, that she wants them to experience art, take their energies and make it into art, and make them aware how art is in their lives everyday.

Mrs. Hatch has a BS in Art Ed. from the University of Central Florida; focusing in area of photography and a MS in Counseling from Capella University, focusing in the area of grief counseling and art therapy.

Mrs. Hatch teaches art from her heart and forming young artists to have a passionate, creative, and imaginative sense of self while challenging them to find their inner artist. She believes, "when people, such as young children are engrossed into creative thinking and problem solving, they start to develop their artistic eye and the flare for individualism." "When I teach art I have to keep in mind, what children will learn and how it connects with their world in order for their imaginations to be ignited." Each art lesson being taught, ends with a unique quality of artwork from each student and as the class looks at the creations, we conclude that we have a lot of fun creating, designing, discovering, and learning from one another.

"I Love what I do and I love to teach. I can't imagine not having the artistic freedoms, inspirations, or artistic directions in my life. Without those aspects, how can I inspire those young artistic minds to be unique, creative, imaginative, and passionate about art. Art is everywhere, and art is why I teach!"
