I teach at Cotter Schools in Minnesota, where I lead a sequential art program for students in grades K–6. Art classes meet once a week for 40 minutes and are thoughtfully designed to build artistic skills, creativity, and visual literacy over time. I bring an extensive background in art education and graphic design to my teaching and have been blessed to serve as Cotter’s elementary art teacher for nearly 40 years. I am a graduate of Winona State University and hold a bachelor’s degree in Art Education with K–12 certification.
As a lifelong advocate for arts education in schools, I also share my creative talents and professional knowledge by teaching students of all ages at our local conservatory for the arts, as well as through summer programming at my school. There has never been a time in my life or career when the arts have not permeated my creative endeavors. The arts have continually provided meaningful, shining moments for the children with whom I share my artistry and my classroom.
