Over the past ten years Myra has been offering art classes for children and young adults. Sharing her passion for learning, teaching and creating art, Myra offers her students a well rounded art education.

Art Education:

It is the Art Room's mission to further educate artists of all ages about the various forms of art in a manner that embraces an enjoyment and appreciation of the creative process.

It is the Art Room's vision to provide a high quality art education that allows students to work with independence and confidence in their artistic endeavors.

Students will improve drawing, painting and sculpting skills through practice and technique.

Students will strengthen imagination and creativity through lessons that allow for individuality.

Students will explore art history and learn about different artists, times and places throughout the world.

The curriculum is fine art based with focus on drawing and painting including perspective, still life, landscape and figure. Students can expect brief note taking on artists and techniques, and a small class size for individualized attention.

In addition to classroom lessons, the Art Room offers on site classes in various locations. Whether it is sitting outside sketching the library, or visiting the fire station to draw the vechicles these lessons offer unique challenges that cannot be captured in the studio.

Museum Passes and Library:

The Art Room offers passes to the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston to students and their families.

Students are allowed to borrow books from the Art Room's library.

Myra graduated from Framingham State College with a BFA degree. She is a member of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, sketches in Portsmouth, and attends figure drawing workshops at the Newburyport Art Association. She has worked in the public school system as an art teacher in Marlborough, MA, and Pinellas County, FL.
