Although I was born in Chicago, I have lived many places and consider Nashville, TN to be "home" since that is where I mostly grew up. The earliest memories I have of wanting to be an artist comes from when I was in 4th grade and I picked up a comic book - The Amazing Spider-man #64. the figures were so dynamic and colorful. The background made me feel as if I were up among the roof tops of the New York skyscrapers. I began to draw those superheroes and villains. Fortunately, my best friend's father was an artist and taught me the basics of really seeing what I saw and not have it reinterpreted by my brain. From there, I've grown to love many art forms such as dance, theater, and music, to name a few. I hope that my students will learn to appreciate and love the arts as I do.
