Summer Quinones
Hello, my students call me Mrs.Q and I am the proud art teacher at Travis Elementary School! I am a graduate of the University of Houston with a degree in Art Education and have been teaching with HISD since 2019. I was named Rookie Teacher of the Year at Benbrook Elementary School for the 2019-2020 school year. Aside from children and education, art is my passion. I believe that art is a special tool for everyone to experience. It allows us to have an outlet for self-expression and can provide skills that are transferred to other aspects of our lives. I try to encourage my students to just try their best in class because we are all ARTISTS!
