Suzanne Struble I am so happy to be back in the elementary classroom setting. I came over from Glen Meadow Middle School. The students at Rolling Hills School are great. They are enthusiastic and so creative. Their creative spirit is contagious and makes the classroom so much fun to watch as their projects unfold. I have been teaching in Vernon for over thirty years. Our schools in Vernon are very supportive of the arts. The visual art program is valued and important. I have seen in increase in the value and unders ... read moretanding of that importance in the visual art curriculum increase more in the last few years. Our students need to develop their own ideas and their own identity. The Arts in Vernon support the students in those personal endeavors through a strong curriculum and instruction. Artsonia is a wonderful outlet to drive in to our students the idea that their ideas are validated. Validation comes from having their family whether near or far see their work digitally. To the student it validates the process and problem solving they have done in the classroom and brings a line of communication home for them. For me it is an outreach to the digital community our students live in. Enjoy their work. Poke around the site and see that our kids are enjoying Artsonia. Just last night I was looking at artwork from the Japanese schools. How great is that?
