D'Arcy Curwen
D'Arcy Curwen is a practicing artist who has been teaching secondary art since 1999. He is a passionate teacher who is always looking for new and exciting ways to engage his students, while developing their creative potential and their analytical and critical thinking skills. The language of visual culture is becoming increasingly pervasive and complex, and Curwen hopes his students' education in art will help prepare them for a myriad of future endeavors.
Additionally, Curwen has taught college classe ... read mores in photography and art education. He completed a BA in Studio Art at CSU San Bernardino and an MFA at the University at Buffalo. He was part of the American Photography Institute at NYU and has completed graduate course work in education at the University of Pennsylvania and the University of Redlands.
As a visual artist himself, Curwen deals with personal connections to the land and how human beings negotiate their relationship to the natural world. His art has been exhibited widely including CEPA Gallery, Buffalo, NY, Castellani Art Museum, Niagara Falls, NY, Bryn Mawr College, PA, Tisch School of the Arts, NY, Ontario International Airport, Ontario, CA, the Robert V. Fullerton Art Museum, CSU San Bernardino, and the Riverside Art Museum, CA. In 2009, he was a Joshua Tree National Park Affiliate Artist.
