Gabrielle Ganthier
Hi everyone! I am Miss Ganthier and welcome to our Artsonia page.
A little about me — I’ve been in love with art since I was five years old. Back then, I would redraw VHS movie or CD covers and sketch the characters I saw on TV. As I grew up, my love for anime, manga, and video games made me want to keep getting better and better at drawing.
I studied Visual Arts at the Pinellas County Center for the Arts at Gibbs High School, where I had my very first solo exhibition at the Morean Arts Center when I ... read more was just sixteen. Later, I earned my Bachelor’s in Fine Art at the University of South Florida, focusing on drawing. My favorite mediums are oil pastel and graphite, and I especially love portraiture.
Shortly after I turned 25, I was ecstatic to become the art teacher at Skycrest Elementary! I do my best to communicate just how important the visual arts are because it teaches us to slow down, to notice details, and to express feelings that don’t always fit into words. It builds confidence, sparks imagination, teaches history, and reminds us that mistakes are just part of creating something new. More than anything, I want my students to leave with a love, appreciation, and curiosity for creativity in all its forms and carry it throughout their lives. If I can do that for just one, well, maybe I’ve done alright.
