I have been doing some form of art for as long as I can remember. My art really improved as a student at Boonton High School. My art teacher gave us opportunities to exhibit and impressed me because she was also a working artist. I had a great time going on a number of field trips to museums and performances as a member of the school's Gifted and Talented program and graduated in the top 10% of the class. I studied art at Jersey City State College and Montclair State, pursuing interests in Printmaking, ... read morePhotography, and Ceramics. After graduating I worked in the photography field in a number of varied ways: researcher and photo librarian for paparazzo Ron Galella and the NBA and Assistant Photo Editor for a TV magazine in NYC. I have taught art of all media to grades Pre-K through 12, on a cart, in a music room in Bergen, Morris and now Passaic County. This is my third year teaching Photography and I enjoy it thoroughly. I am also proud to lead by example because I have finally found the time to create my own art work again. Since receiving my MA in Metalsmithing and Jewelry in 2008, I continue to find places to show my sculptures, books and photographs. I also continue to write and presented my thesis at a Humanities conference for SVA last fall. I want my students to see how rewarding is is to create art.
