Meet the Teachers  at East Mecklenburg High School (Charlotte, North Carolina)

David Veto David Veto teaches Art I, Art II, Art III and IBMYP Art classes. He has a B.S. in Art Education from Appalachian State University. He has been teaching for eleven years, including two years working for the Ft. Bragg/Pope Airforce Base School System. Prior to coming to East Meck, Mr. Veto worked for eight years in advertising.

Marilyn George Marilyn George teaches Crafts classes and IB Art. She has a B.A. in Studio Art, an M.A. in Art History from Ohio State University and Post-Graduate studies in Art Education from the University of Virginia. She has been teaching for 23 years, including 12 years at Wingate University where she serves as an adjunct professor. In October, 2005, Ms. George received recognition as an outstanding art educator from the Arts and Science Council. She received the Time Warner Cable Star Teacher award in May, 2006. ... read moreThis year, she was awarded the 2007-08 Ester Page Hill Award, given in appreciation of and recognition for outstanding commitment and exemplary service to Art Education in the state of North Carolina, especially for the introduction of multi-ethnic and multi-cultural concerns into the art classroom. Ms. George provides her students with opportunities to study the art of many countries and cultures, and incorporates lessons related to international art forms into her Crafts and IB Art classes.
