I am honored to be sharing my passion for art and art education with the students at East Hanover Middle School. The community, administration, faculty and support staff continuously offer positive influence and inspiration for our Visual Arts program. During an exciting journey over the past seventeen years all students have engaged in a variety of art experiences that encourage increased awareness of the arts, appreciation for the work of peers, positive self-esteem, and pride. I teach six cycles througho ... read moreut the course of the school year, each cycle lasting for approximately thirty-one days. Additionally, the art room is open at least four times each week during the middle of the day for any student who wishes to be creative. We have also proudly established the school's first chapter of the National Junior Art Honor Society. Becoming an art educator was the only thing I ever wanted to do. This dream was lovingly nurtured by my mother and grandmother from the time I could hold a pencil. My students enjoy hearing how I came to share the visual arts with them, and I plan on making a difference in the lives of every young adult I am blessed to work with. At East Hanover Middle School, I have the opportunity not only to teach art, but to teach about the art of life.
