Anna Villachica
Anna’s artistic journey began before she even knew how to put it into words—but around the age of eight, she made it clear: “I want to be an artist” to her parents. That early declaration marked the beginning of a lifelong adventure in creativity, curiosity, and exploration.
Anna (kids call me Ms. V) went on to study art at university, immersing herself in a wide range of techniques and disciplines. Her path didn’t stop there—she expanded her education abroad, embracing new cultures, new perspectives, an ... read mored even a new language. Through travel, study and teaching abroad, she became fluent in Spanish and found fresh inspiration in the art and traditions of the places she visited and lived.
Never one to settle into a single medium, Anna continues to push the boundaries of her practice. Her latest artistic endeavors include encaustic painting and welding. When she is not teaching or making art Anna enjoys gardening, paddleboarding & walking her dogs with her family.
As a teacher, Anna brings this same sense of discovery into the classroom. She loves introducing her students to new materials, tools, and processes, encouraging them to explore, experiment, and most importantly, enjoy the journey. For Anna, art is an adventure—and she invites every student to come along for the ride. "Art allows us to find ourselves and lose ourselves at the same time." Thomas Merton
