I have been the art teacher at Leroy Drive Elementary School for 8 years. Three years ago our school adopted the Primary Years Program. All specialists are required to connect their curriculum as much as possible to the classroom curriculum, the curriculum is conceptually based and values are encouraged through the acknowledgement of the attitudes and Learner Profile. Each year the students will have the opportunity to experience a variety of 2 and 3-d art projects. Their art is exhibited outside the school in a variety of venues. Our school year culminates with a school wide art show / PYP exhibit.
