My plan was to be a great Ceramics Artist or Art Therapist after working in the bar/restaurant business for 20+ years. I am happy to say I am in my 16th year teaching elementary art in the beautiful state of Iowa. We have bragging rights to Grant Wood (American Gothic), Marvin Cone (painter) Mike Trout (baseball), Kurt Warner (football), Zach Johnson (golf), Ashton Kutcher, Elijah Wood (actors), and many other famous people! My favorite artists are Vincent Van Gogh, Alexander Calder, and Deborah Butterfield. I love creating art with younger kids because they are so creative, enthusiastic, and imaginative! I'm proud to say my students put their heart in everything they do!

Art for me was my go-to activity as a child. I loved to draw and paint! I especially loved making nature sculptures outside in the summer! I continued creating various types of Art for my own pleasure throughout my life. When I started my Art career as a Ceramics Teacher, there was a plan to become an Art therapist. I haven't gotten there yet, but it's still on my list!
