This is my fifteenth year teaching art at Children's Community Charter School. I have seen a whole generation of students progress and grow artistically from Kindergarten through 8th grade. Artsonia allows me to review each artwork individually which is such a reward. I treasure each one. Before I taught at CCCS, I taught an Art for Elementary School Children class at CSU, Chico. While there, I was involved in a Shojo Manga art exhibit with Masami Toku, CSU, Chico professor of Art Education. This was ... read morea world wide traveling show and I was able to present at the Chicago opening with the National Art Educators Art Conference. Prior to becoming an art teacher I was a professional Chef-10 years at the Redwood Forest in Chico. Starting in Los Angeles and migrating back to my hometown of Chico, I taught many young people the ways of the restaurant world. I still love to cook. I also love photography, gardening, sewing and boating. I'll even go fishing if it means I get to float around on the water and watch the beauty of nature all day! As an artist, I love working with clay, painting, printmaking and fabric arts. I also like incorporating digital imagery into my art from photos and scanned objects! Thank you everyone for supporting the arts!
