Meet the Teachers  at Wedgewood Park International School (Milwaukee, Wisconsin)

Cris Hart I will be starting my 21st year of teaching art in the Fall of 2025 and happy to start it at a new home; Wedgewood Park International School. I earned my BFA from the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee and worked in the private sector for a number of years before returning to school. I attended Alverno College, completing the Art Education Certification Program. I began working for MPS in 2006 and have taught all grades from K through 12. I am coming to Wedgewood after twelve years of teaching high school art at Milwaukee Marshall. I'm looking forward to my new home and my new partner, Ms. Curtiss. Send compliment

Maggie Curtiss This is my 21st year teaching art to middle school aged students and I am very thankful to be a part of the Wedgewood Park International School community. I graduated with my BA in Psychology with a minor in Art from Cardinal Stritch University. I continued my education and earned a Certification in Art Education and am nearly finished with a MA in Art Education from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. I believe that art plays a vital part in a school’s core curriculum. Margaret Fish Hello everyone! I am thrilled to be a part of the Wedgewood Park International School staff! I teach 6th, 7th, and 8th grade Visual Arts, as well as the Advanced Art course. I received my BFA (Bachelor of Fine Arts) with a K-12 Art Education certification in 1993 from UW-Milwaukee, and earned a MA (Masters of Arts) in Visual Studies in 2001 from Cardinal Stritch University. I am extr ... read moreemely passionate about the positive effects the arts can have for all students, especially within the International Baccalaureate (IB) Middle Years Programme (MYP). The arts allows for constructive opportunities in personal expression that can be neglected within the educational structure. Participation in a quality arts education program, taught by highly qualified arts instructors, has proven to increase both test scores and academic achievement overall, as well as provide benefits that may not be traditionally measurable but are just as important. The arts teach students to see the world from different perspectives. The arts teach skills in problem solving, collaboration, and self-discipline. The arts provide opportunities to demonstrate acceptance and tolerance of others while taking personal risks, increasing self-esteem, and self-confidence. I believe skills such as these have value in all levels of a student’s educational experience, and will translate into any career path. It is my objective to challenge my students to develop these skills through experiences in the visual arts within the IB framework. Send compliment
