I have always been a creative person learning early from my mom as she was always drawing, sewing, making and creating something. I took as many art classes as I could in high school and some after. The rest has all been self taught. The more I create, the more I learn and the more I can teach!
I have been teaching homeschool art classes since 2011. I truly believe art is important in education. It uses the whole brain by teaching problem solving, collaboration, resiliency, self-direction, risk-taking, imagination, critical thinking, reflection and of course creativity! Aren't these the qualities that we wish to teach our children? |
