Hello, Canyon Creek Families! Artsonia will serve as a digital portfolio for our children and can also double as a fundraiser for the Canyon Creek Art Department. I personally love to give magnets of my sons' art as gifts to their grandparents, I have a mouse pad from art created when my oldest was in kindergarten, a set of coasters I love, and I have purchased t-shirts with student art on them.
The artwork you see in grades 2 - 5 will be a result of your child using his or her "artistic license" to cr ... read moreeate, in addition to showcasing project and classroom expectations. He or she will be demonstrating an ability to use materials correctly, engage and persist through challenges, envision the next steps of his or her creation, as well as express, observe, reflect, stretch, and explore through the creative process.
Students in kindergarten and 1st grade will not have as much artwork uploaded at school since they will not bring their iPads to the art room, but they will all have an Artsonia account and you can upload their works through your parent access to Artsonia to preserve their creations in a digital format.
Thank you for supporting your child in his or her creativity! Be sure to talk to your artists about their work and express your appreciation for their risk-taking; “Creativity takes courage.” Henri Matisse
